Can a sliding door track be repaired, or does it have to be replaced?
In most cases the track is repaired, not replaced. A gouged or pitted aluminum track can be resurfaced and capped with a stainless steel track cover, which gives the new rollers a smooth, hard surface to run on. Full track replacement is only necessary when the track has separated from the frame, or when the frame itself is bent or corroded. Nevada Slide repairs wherever the existing frame is serviceable, because it costs a fraction of a full door replacement.
Why did my new rollers fail again?
Because the track was never addressed. This is the single most common repeat problem we are called out for in Las Vegas. Once a roller seizes and flat-spots, it stops rolling and starts dragging, and the hardened steel wheel cuts a groove into the softer aluminum track. New rollers dropped into that damaged groove wear out on the same path, often within a year. Rollers and track have to be corrected together or the repair does not hold.

Valley dust and grit are the main cause. Fine sand blows into the track, packs into the roller channel, and turns into an abrasive paste that grinds both the wheel and the track every time the door moves.
